Cassy Edmond, Miss Caribbean Beauty International 2012 Being crowned as the 2012 Miss Caribbean Beauty International was the most exciting, amazing moment I’ve ever been blessed to experience. It really put an uplifting highlight in my life. Bonding, connecting, and networking with so many different people was definitely inspiring; especially meeting the beautiful girls who participated in the pageant also. As a participant and winner of the pageant, I had the opportunity to be involved in many important events. As a title holder, the first event I participated in was hosted by David Brown where I met Miss Haiti 2009, MRS Caribbean Beauty International 2009, Miss Miami Tropic International, and Miss Golden Beauty. David Brown then invited me to a Haitian event called Women in Production where I had the chance to meet several entrepreneurs and individuals who made food, clothing, and crafts from scratch. I received samples of facial wash & treatments, nail products, pastries, handbags, and a piece of clothing. All these were given as a gift but my absolute favorite piece was a scarf given to me by a woman who hand made scarfs and painted them to tell a certain story. I was amazed by all these individuals and the creativity that each one embraced. The pageant was held in June 2012 and by July 4th 2012; I already had my first event as a beauty queen. This was the 4th OF July parade held in Plantation. The event was beautiful. My dress was a blue corset with gold stars, along with a red & white striped skirt to resemble the American flag. The dress was designed by Sonia Alberti. In this event I was assisted by Ambassador Caribbean Beauty International (Yesica Lopez) and Teen Caribbean Beauty International (Leticia Roche) who also participated. Ms. Angie Halavin was the captain of that day and toured us around Plantation in a white convertible. We waved gracefully and smiled for those who wanted pictures. There were old fashioned army trucks, a youth football team, a reggae band, people advertising their boutiques or businesses, and others throwing candy to the crowd. At the end of the parade, we had the chance to hear the announcements of the winners of the parade and met the Mayor of Plantation. This was my first parade and it was a pleasant experience. I had an opportunity to do a very fun photo-shoot with an exciting photographer named Rui Diaz and a talented body painter by the name of Avi Ram. The theme was Haitian avatar and so Avi painted and designed the flag on my body. This nearly took about 45 minutes because the artist was quick and creative. The top half of my body was painted blue, the bottom half was red, and the main part of the flag was done on my stomach. By the end of this creation, I was considered the Haitian Avatar; resembling a strong, wise, independent Haitian woman. Another amazing opportunity I had was being invited by David Brown to the Jackie Gleason theatre to hear and watch Obama speak at his fundraiser. The whole theatre was filled as we were entertained by a DJ and a thrilling performance by Marc Anthony. Obama came out and gave a wonderful speech which sounded to me that he truly spoke from the heart. He truly cares about helping the people and seeing our country progress. He was embraced by the audience to a standing ovation and an encore. This was a moving moment that I will cherish and carry with me forever. In late July I was invited to celebrate the 8th anniversary of a Haitian website called Pikliz. I was asked to give a brief speech about myself and how I became Miss Caribbean Beauty 2012. I gave a passionate speech on my experiences as Miss Caribbean Beauty International and sent out great advice and tips for young girls to encourage them to participate in next year’s pageant. I was applauded to what I was told to be a great speech. Here is where I also had the chance to meet and greet the President of Haiti, Michel Martelly. On August 10, 2012 was the National conference of Puerto Rican Women held at the Ana G. Mendez University. This conference had many inspiring leaders and speakers in the field of experts and of course the beautiful women apart of the Miss Caribbean Beauty International participating in a two part fashion show. First part of the fashion show represented dresses designed by Sonia Alberti and the second half was represented of gowns designed by Francisco Azucar. The event ended with all the girls taking pictures with their sash near the run way and the American flag that was draped on a gold pole. On August 12 2012, we had a meeting at Haitian restaurant that I introduced to the girls called Tap Tap. Here, every one tried different appetizers and beverages so they had a bit of a taste of my country. In this restaurant there are many paintings and designs on the walls so everyone had a chance to view the Haitian culture. Everyone was pleased which indeed made me pleased as well to see that everybody enjoyed this experience. Also, late July was my first official interview hosted by David Brown. It's All About Make-Up

Leticia Rocha, Teen Caribbean Beauty International 2012 THE BEST MAKEUP YOU CAN USE IS THE MINERAL MAKEUP. TRUST ME, I HAVE BENN USING IT FOR 2 YEARS AND I LOVE IT. What is mineral makeup? Mineral makeup, as the name implies, is made from natural minerals that have been ground to a very fine powder. It supposedly contains none (or at less) of the chemicals and dyes found in your usual makeup products. Today, you can find mineral foundation, eye-shadow, blush and bronze. Benefits of mineral makeup Mineral makeup doesn't contain any magic ingredient that heals the skin. Its core ingredients, such as mica and titanium dioxide, are used in most makeup. However, it doesn't have fragrances or binders that may irritate the skin. It may also be beneficial for people who have acne, since titanium oxide has anti-inflammatory properties, and it doesn't clog pores. Titanium oxide is also used in sunscreen, so it does have some sun protection (but not enough that you don’t need additional sunscreen). Mineral makeup’s powder formulation also makes it easier for women to choose shades that approximate their natural skin tone.

Whats Going on

Alma Tobar, Jr. Teen Caribbean Beauty International 2012 We the Caribbean Beauty Queens had our first meeting on July 2012 to sign the pageant contracts and talk about our upcoming year events. On August 10th we went volunteer to participate in a fashion show at Ana G. Mendez University to benefit student scholarships from the National Association of Puerto Rican Woman. The fashion was exiting as we model for a new upancoming designer Sonia with her Marilyn collection. We concluded the show with the beautiful designs by Azucar. Evening and Couture ware were the Glam of the day. Thanks to God everything came out fantastic. Mandi exposed her makeup and hair skils to the public. The models were stunning. We also met Azucar's assistance who made the fashion show go smoothly . We all had a grate time. We can't wait to see each other again for our up coming events and meetings.
